Frequently Asked Questions

How long does each therapy session take?

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes in length.

When working with couples the first 2-3 sessions are usually scheduled to be 50- 75 minutes in length. The first session is conjoint with both partners and the second session is split for 30 minutes with each partner individually.

What type of therapy interventions or models do you use?

I provide non-emergency psychotherapeutic services by scheduled appointment. I primarily utilize Contextual Family Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to inform my work with people. I operate from a family systems, strength based foundation. I have received training in a cognitive behavioral training, Gottamn Method couples therapy, EMDR, and family based eating disorder treatment and include techniques from these approaches in my work.

Do you offer sliding scale rates?

Yes. I do offer sliding scale rates. All intake sessions (first initial assessment session) are $150. My flat  rates are $125 per 50 minutes for individual therapy and $150 for couple and family therapy. If that fee is cost-prohibitive I offer a sliding scale ranging from $75 to $100 per individual session and $80-$125 per couple/family session . The fee per session is determined at the time of initial session and remains throughout the duration of therapy. If you have a significant change in income or have financial hardship any time during the duration of therapy please notify me and we can re-assess and decide upon a new adjusted fee.

Do you take Insurance?

No. I do not take any insurance coverage at this time.  However, I believe that money should not deter individuals from receiving appropriate care and have a sliding fee scale available for clients needing financial assistance. I accept cash, check, credit/debit card and health savings account and payment is due upon session completion.

If your insurance provider reimburses out of network care I can provide you with an invoice (superbill) that you can submit on your own for reimbursement if you desire.
